Pierre Meyer, born in August 1979 in Brake / Lower Saxony, only discovered his love for electronic music at a party in the summer of 1997 in the former Club Werk2 (Oldenburg/Germany)...

Before that, his life was rather very unmusical. He reacted with great dislike to the typical recorder, and a keyboard for Christmas did not have the effect the parents had hoped for.

Only annoying sounds came out and everyone was happy when the batteries were empty and the power cord suddenly disappeared without a trace. Even music lessons in school didn't help at that time, just the reluctance to learn grades"... and stuff like that..."Even today the words of his music teacher are in his ear, who predicted him in the 7th Schoolclass, "...you will need the knowledge of musicnotes at some point,at some point, believe me...",of course he did not believe her.

From the young age of 15, Pierre lived on the street for a few years and moved around with the punks, back then they commuted between the city of Varel, the city of Oldenburg, Bremen and sometimes even Hamburg. There were ska, punk rock and reggae among other things rather his style of music.

But he also liked individual tracks by great artists such as Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, New Order and others even before his first contact with the new scene. But only the first party, the first club, the electronic music, as well as the feeling that the music, the DJ and the guests gave him, suddenly awoke a completely different, new, artistic and creative part in him.

 

 

His idea was:

 

“... He wanted to give the guests just as soulful impressions. With the music he loves so much to make you forget everyday life. Create sound experiences by mixing and merging sounds and tones, voices and basses with infinite possibilities, reinterpreting existing music, creating and presenting ... music that has no pauses, music that apparently never ends ... "

 

 

After buying the first equipment in summer 1997 and some records together, Pierre quickly worked his way up as a much-booked DJ in his region. Under the pseudonym "fastMo" he was known throughout Germany (and through his appearance in 2004 at Tresor Berlin, “Waschlabor Event”, even worldwide) and played not only tribal techno but also many hard techno sets in the best clubs and festivals in Germany such as the legendary Tresor Berlin, Rotor Club Berlin, Residence Mentheroda, Treibhaus Glöwen, the Nature One Festival and many other locations.

 

2005 to 2008 Pierre could not withstand the musical change and began to try other styles of music. Ghettotech, Chicagohouse & Bootyhouse and his then best friend D.L.Session (also known collectively as 2nd Sequence) were very popular until he came to the minimal genre, where he found his new calling.

 

In 2006/2007 the desire to create his own tracks came up and Pierre got his first “producer” software called “Buzz” through friends. The first tracks were quickly built and tested among friends and acquaintances, which was clearly met with a lot of dislike. Motivated by this, the professional software "Fruity Loops" was bought and continued to work diligently on own tracks.

In the spring of 2007 Pierre's perseverance was finally rewarded and his first hard techno track was released on vinyl, a various artist ep with artists like Dj Mahatma or the Totmacher, at that time on the Soundthology Records label under his pseudonym fastMo.

 

Then his production became very quiet.

 

On the side, Pierre started training as a health and nursing assistant at the beginning of 2010. Dealing with people is easy for him and looking to the future he didn't want to rely on music alone.

 

In July 2010 he released his first minimal track on the Drag Music label in Argentina, also under the name fastMo. This was followed in 2011 by his first own EP on the Productos BMM label in Spain. In April and May 2011, further, own ep's appeared on Solomoon Records in Berlin and Tannhäuser Records in Italy. Many other publications followed by 2016. In the meantime, of course, Pierre, like every artist, moved to Berlin, Germany's stronghold of art and music.

 In the short but, as he himself says, "inspiring" two years in which he worked, lived, made music, celebrated and experienced happy and difficult situations and times, Pierre reinvented himself ... as a person, as an artist of course also musically.

 

After a long back and forth, fastMo → Peer Kaschen and hard techno gave way to deep and tech house or minimal and techno.

 

At the beginning of 2012, the equipment was digitally expanded, so that Pierre now, depending on the booking and club, played his Dj sets either as usual with vinyl or in a new way with the DVS software (Digital Vinyl System) from Traktor Scratch plus the associated time code vinyls. Because after almost 15 years of loyalty to vinyl, he also switched to digital deejaying. With the professional software Traktor Scratch and the associated Time Code Vinyl, new paths could be treaded again, new discoveries, new designs and of course a lot more musical choices were now available. Compared to the record case and record case, thousands of artists and their tracks were available anywhere and anytime via USB stick or hard drive.

 

In the meantime, Pierre has switched to REKORDBOX from PioneerDJ, as this is likely to become the modern standard or already is with some. But in addition to DVS Vinyl, he has decided to use an alternative to the needle and is rounding off his setup with PHASE ESSENTIAL. His actually Equipment are Pioneer DJM750 MK2, 2 Technics 1210 MK7 & 2x CDJ 900Nexus.

Nevertheless, despite the change of name and genre, his Dj sets are always characterized by variety and power because
he mixes many areas from minimal house and deep house to tech house and minimal techno to techno. His mixes and 
his way of working and making music with the audience make his performances interesting and often unforgettable, 
as there is always something for almost everyone, musically and on a friendly basis. 
In spring 2015 Pierre had the chance to found his first and own digital label "Schachwatt Records".
When he applied to Alex Bau for a release on his label, the potential of his productions was recognized and Alex Bau 
offered him the sale of his music through DBH Musik. Numerous publications by him on his label followed until 2016, 
despite health and personal problems. But even with him, the problems were not solved immediately and disappeared 
and so bookings, appearances and Internet presences became less until Pierre suddenly withdrew from the scene for a 
while and said goodbye to the music ... 

In 2019, Pierre moved to North Rhine-Westphalia for professional reasons, more precisely to Herford. There he works full-time as a nurse in the local university clinic. Suddenly not only Pierre's life changed, the whole world changed and was suddenly caught in lockdowns, contact restrictions, numerous resolutions and much more caused by a pandemic ... Standstill ...

 

2019/2020 ... a year that you would never have imagined, a virus pandemic is keeping the world under control. Clubs, discos, festivals ... closed. Yes, cinema, fitness, leisure time, etc. all restricted or partly no longer allowed. Avoiding contact means being banned from going out and people in quarantine or isolation. Many club operators, organizers, restaurateurs and even well-known artists / DJ colleagues were or are on the verge of subsistence, have to close, give up, are forgotten ... sad and bad at the same time.

 

But some remembered the "good" old days and were driven to tell fastMo or Peer Kaschen this.

 

Pierre then caught this wave of euphoria between April and June 2020.

 

SMS, emails, nightly calls from former and existing friends and fans took turns, reminding him of joint parties, after hours, gigs and sets and, above all, of his fans who were still there , occasionally waited for a sign of life from Him ... that then came promptly.

 Times change, so does the music, old became new and new became old again and Pierre became fastMo (aka) Peer Kaschen again. Since old love never rusts, Pierre, aka fastMo, is increasingly playing his brutal, hard techno sets again, just like in the past. However, there will be small, name separations / delimitations. Depending on the style or release, maybe a different project name ...

 

In any case, his DJ project should be re-established as fastMo and the production and / or release of new music will then be taken over by Peer Kaschen till 2022.
